Golf Gambling Games: Wolf

Let's not kid ourselves.  Golf is a little more interesting when there is a little hard earned money on the line.  One of the most popular golf gambling games to play is a game called "Wolf."  First, a rotation must be set before teeing off.  Second, you must decide a comfortable amount to wager each hole.  Off the first tee, the person who draws #1 is the "wolf."  On the second hole, #2 is "wolf" and on the third hole the #3 drawn player is the "wolf" and so on.  In a foursome, each player will be the "wolf" four times, and two players will be the wolf five times on #17 and #18.  Back to hole #1.  The "wolf" will hit his tee shot first.  The #2 player will hit his tee shot next.  The "wolf" must now decide before the third player tees off whether he wants to be partner with the #2 player, and those two will play the hold against the other two players.  If he doesn't want to be #2's partner, then he could decide to take #3 tee shot before #4 hits there shot, and the rotation goes on.  If #4 hits there tee shot and the "wolf" doesn't take him/her as partner, then the "wolf" plays the hole alone against the other three players.  If this is the case, the "wolf" will either win three times the money or must pay out all three of his partners the same.
The round continues on until hole #17, when the two players who are most down in the money become "wolf" again, and they can either win some money back by playing the hold themselves, or they can partner up and try to win some money back with a partner.
The game does take some paying attention from the group.  I have played a $5 wolf game before and lost $25 total.  Keep in mind if you are playing a $10 wolf, then you can possibly lose $180 dollars or more with press bets.  Bet only what you can afford to lose.  Wolf is a very fun game to play with a foursome and can keep things very interesting during a round.
